“Beetlejuice bothered your dog…” – The animated Beetlejuice

There are times when I realize how much of a kid I still am. And there are many times when I realize how all my friends are still kids like me. (I mean, a NYE party where we watched old Saturday Morning Cartoons from midnight until 8pm the next day?) Last night it hit me again that I don’t think I’ll ever really grow up…all because of one thing I was watching…

Beetlejuice Cartoon

Beetlejuice Cartoon

If you’re my age (around 30) then you probably had the joy of watching the cartoon Beetlejuice on Saturday mornings for a few seasons when you were younger. It’s also quite possible that you haven’t seen any of those old episodes since you were a kid. (it ran from 1989-1991) Not many of the original episodes were ever released on VHS (only about 7 tapes with most of the first season) but there were 3 episodes released on the 20th anniversary dvd of the movie.

THQ’s $10 Battle Axe

Android 3.0 or HoneyComb for tablets

The Consumer Electronic Show (CES) is finally here. Lots of announcements. Too many in fact to share with you on our little site.  I will post a few things that I find interesting from other websites. First I will start off by posting a video(was accidentally released) that shows off Android 3.0 or its Sweet-Name HoneyComb. Looks like is made specifically for tablets. I know I am interested in an Android Tablet and after seeing this video I will wait to get one that runs 3.0. Be sure to let us know of anything interesting from CES that you think we should post on the site. Email us at TheGeeksFTW@gmail.com or post in the comments.

I’d buy this for a dollar!

With Microsoft now targeting the family market you have to wonder why they haven’t made a Mario Kart-esque type game, sure you have Joyride for the Kinect but sometimes you want some good-old split-screen controlled racing action. Well it seems Indie developer Rendercode Games has beat’em to the finish line with their new title Avatar Karting.

PSP2? In your Dreams

Back around November low quality photos surfaced from VG247 of one of the PSP2 rumored development kits. From what could be made out from the grainy, sketchy looking images was some pretty surprising and interesting features if these were indeed real.

“Your Majesty! SHE has returned to Oz!” – Remembering “Return to Oz”

Return to OzSometimes there are movie that frighten you so badly as a child that you are almost afraid to watch them again as an adult. Sometimes you pluck up the courage to watch them again and find yourself wondering what in the world was so scary about them.

Sometimes you watch them again and realize exactly why they were so scary back then and why they are creepy even now.

“Return to Oz” is one of the latter for me.

I remember being terrified of various parts of this movie when I was little. It’s probably the reason that I have a serious fear of psychiatrists and those weird electrical pulse machines they use in physical therapy. Yet after watching “Lady in White” which frightened me back then and now makes me wonder why I decided it was time to brave “Return to Oz”…with the help of a friend.

Over the holidays I sat down with my friend Amanda and we watched this movie that she had never seen all the way through and that I hadn’t seen in years.
