Star Wars MMO finally gets a release date

The most anticipated MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic, has finally set a release date. The people at Bioware and EA kept saying the game will be out before this financial year ends, which end in March 2012. But some of us at GeeksFTW (me) kept saying that it will be out this holiday season. Well the MMO will be on store shelves, both physical and digital, on…..

Could Steam be finally coming to the Xbox?

It has been a dream of the online gaming community to play together no matter what video game system you play which it be Xbox 360, PC, Mac, or even PS3. Steam has been trying to convince the console manufacturers to make that possible. Portal 2 allowed PC players to play with PS3 players, and Shadow Run allowed Xbox 360 players to battle against PC players. Will we ever be able to finally fight this 3 way battle that has been years in the making?

You Don’t Have to Choose a Side with your Star Wars Keyboard.

OK so E3 happened. But what you probably haven’t heard is Razor is making Star Wars: The Old Republic gaming hardware. A keyboard, a mouse and mouse mat, and a headset. Each one can be changed from Republic to Empire, so you don’t have to choose whether you want to walk the path of the light or give into your anger and go Sith.

The Age of Dragons Have Indeed Begun

"You will die for what you did to Mother"

Dragon Age 2 took what was good about the first one and threw it away and made some things much better but a so took some of the mundane out. For instance, the new leveling up system is way faster and easier to use. If you like getting into numbers and theorycrafting that is still there, while letting to people who don’t, like it just the same. One of the biggest things missing was a deeper backstory for all the companions. In Origins there was the camp that the player visited after every mission where he/she could learn almost the entire life’s story of the companions, sadly this was lacking in Dragon Age 2. There were the occasional side missions that lead into dialog with the companions but not as much as some would have liked. The gift giving system was almost completely removed. Only one gift could be given to a companion and that certain gift was sometimes really hard to find, if found at all.

Back to the Future is Back

Telltale Games has released their next point and click adventure game, Back to the Future: The Game. Only episode one is out right now but the rest are some periodically throughout the year.

Episode one takes place six months after Back to the Future part 3. Doc has been traveling during that time and the bank is selling off his house and stuff. Marty is very upset. Biff is grabbing everything in sight. However, when a time-traveling DeLorean appears, Marty receives a message from Doc, indicating that he’s in need of rescue.  Intent on finding his friend, Marty climbs behind the wheel once again and begins a new adventure.

Unfortunately Telltale couldn’t get Micheal J. Fox to voice Marty but A.J. Locascio is the best choice for the job. He does a perfect Marty. Happily Christopher Lloyd does voice Doc.

I really enjoyed the first part of the game. I haven’t played many point and click adventure games outside of the Kings Quest series. I had quite a few chuckles while playing. There are also many things that fans of the movies while recognize. The game is only a couple hours long but well worth it. I bought this game on Steam for $22 because of the mass Steam sales. I whole heartily recommend this game to all Back to the Future fans.
