You Don’t Have to Choose a Side with your Star Wars Keyboard.

OK so E3 happened. But what you probably haven’t heard is Razor is making Star Wars: The Old Republic gaming hardware. A keyboard, a mouse and mouse mat, and a headset. Each one can be changed from Republic to Empire, so you don’t have to choose whether you want to walk the path of the light or give into your anger and go Sith.

Let’s start with the keyboard. See that logo in the corner it’s not just a logo is a full color LCD multi-touch track pad. I can’t even imagine all the things that are possible with that. Angry Birds while you wait for the Operation to start anyone? Moving on, those marcos keys you see at the top those are just any old macros they are “dynamic adaptive tactile keys”. Now what I think that means is that whatever action you set that macro to the icon will change to match the icon in-game. How cool is that? And the other features are what you’d expect from a high end gaming keyboard, backlight keys, fully programmable macro keys on the left, and a custom lighting system that can change the LED color that the keyboard is giving off.

Now on to the mouse. It’s based off the Razor Naga Epic MMO gaming mouse with the 12 programmable keys where your thumb is. The only thing different is the Star Wars logo on the mouse and they can be switched between Republic and Empire panels. The mouse mat that you would use your TOR gaming mouse is a metal speed mat and you can flip it over for Republic or Empire logos.

Finally we got the headset. It’s a usb 5.1 (?simulated?) surround sound with and adjustable boom. This headset also has amultiple LED color system. The headset is also going to be integrated into the game alert system with an LED light that comes down your shoulder and can be seen from your peripheral vision. An example would be, your in a PVP zone and a player from the opposite faction is near you maybe it would flash to warn you.

Now that I’ve teased you with all that awesomeness it’s time to bring you back down with the prices. Keyboard ($299) Mouse and Headset ($129) and the Mouse Mat ($49.99). Ouch right? That keyboard looks amazing. It will defiantly be on my Christmas List (the list of things no one will never ever get me. The PS3 is on that list) cause I will probably never buy that myself, still want it though. Fingers crossed for a major price drop after a year or so.
