Mass Effect 2: PS3 details, so far…
Back when Mass effect 2 was first announced for the PS3 I was overjoyed that all of the Playstation fan-boys would finally be able to experience this incredible space action-drama, and stop bashing it because they didn’t have it. This feeling was quickly turned into sorrow as is was stated there was going to be “hours of content” not previously released. Fearing I would eventually have to bite the Sony bullet and shell out the 300+ dollars as I am no longer an owner of the PS3. This may sound crazy to some but if you really knew my love, my gooshy galactic golf ball washing love for this epic masterpiece you’d understand. Well Xbox 360 Mass Effect owners can breath a sigh of relief as it has been announced the hours of content maybe referring to an interactive comic that will be given to Playstation Mass Effect 2 owners at the beginning of the game. This will fleshout key decisions and story plots found on the 360 version of Mass Effect 1. The player will then be able to transfer these elements over into their Mass Effect 2 play-through. Along-side this, all of the DLC such as the Cerberus Network (which includes Zaeed & the Firewalker Pack), Kasumi’s memory, Over Lord, Lair of the Shadow Broker and Blood Dragon armor will be included with the game. More free and paid packs that have been announced for the PSN will be the Aegis Pack and Recon Operations Pack. Mass Effect 2 producer Jesse Hudson says “the PS3 version is still far from shipping though, so some of these details may change”. With that said if they add an armor pack here and there I won’t to much care, but if an infinitesimal amount of story is added I will be purchasing a PS3 again. Its sad really, the thing that may drive me to purchase a PS3 will be a game that I’ve played on another console twice through.
