The long-awaited third installment of Deus Ex will be arriving at the end of summer. Eidos Montreal confirmed an August release for the RPG/shooter hybrid. Eidos tweeted today that the game will hit the U.S. on August 23rd. The UK release will follow on the 26th. Though not mentioned by Eidos themselves, the Australian release is the 25th according to retailers. With such a long wait ahead of us, you’ve got plenty of time to weigh the different pre-order DLC packs being offered by retailers. Deus Ex: Human Revolution‘s main character Alex Jensen is armed with a variety of cybernetic augmentations. The game itself will have a few enhancements, too, thanks to a collector’s edition and pre-order bonuses.
The Augmented Edition of the game (above), priced at $69.99 for PS3/Xbox 360 and $59.99 for the PC, will be offered through North American retailers. It has the following extras:
- 40-page Artbook
- Exclusive Bonus DVD: Making Of, Special Trailers, Animated storyboard of CGI trailer and Soundtrack
- Premium Packaging
- Motion Graphic Novel
Pre-order customers will have two DLC packs to choose from. The first, dubbed the Explosive Mission Pack, is available exclusively through GameStop:
- An entirely new mission with special cameo appearance of original Deus Ex character
- Linebacker G-87 multiple shot grenade launcher
- M-28 Utility Remote-Detonated Explosive Device(UR-DED)
- Automatic Unlocking Device
Other retailers like Amazon will be offering a Tactical Enhancement Pack with the following goodies:
- Huntsman Silverback Double-Barrel Shotgun
- Longsword Whisperhead Extreme Range Sniper Rifle
