Know Your Space Explosions!
Every now and then I’m reminded of how much of a geek I am. Last week was one such occurrence. I was watching a movie on VHS with a friend and there were previews. Not remembering what year the movie came out or what previews would be shown I was interested. The first preview showed a second or two of an explosion in space and without thinking I blurted out the name of the movie that I knew it was from. That’s right, I identified a movie from a single space explosion. Correctly.Â
That’s led me to wonder how many of my fellow geeks know their space explosions just by glancing at them. So I’m going to post up a few and challenge your knowledge. No cheating by using Google or other search or reference engines. Fire up your geeky brains and see how many you get correct! (answers are at the bottom of the post!)

Answers:
Explosion 1: Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country – Klingon Moon, Praxis
Explosion 2: Battlestar Galactica -Â Resurrection Hub
Explosion 3: Star Wars: A New Hope – The Death Star
For the record, it was the first explosion, from Star Trek VI, that was the one I shouted aloud the other night. Considering I haven’t watched that movie in a couple of years I feel rather proud for getting that one right. Did you get all three correct?
